Two new friends coming soon...

Tomorrow a couple of action figures from Watchmen come out, and needless to say, I've already pre-ordered the shit out of them! Tomorrow will be a good day, yes it will.

Not only is Watchmen a soon-to-be-released action flick directed by 300 direction, Zack Snyder, but it's also possibly the best graphic novel of all time. In fact, it made Time Magazines 100 Greatest Novels List (and I believe that it's the ONLY graphic novel to have made the list).

I've been wanting action figures based on the graphic novel for quite some time now, but it looks like that's just never going to happen. With the movie coming out though, they're putting out 8 figures based on the most popular characters from the story. Unfortunately all of them are based on designs from the movie, not the book. However, the two that are coming out tomorrow are to most similar to their appearance in the book itself and because of that those may end up being the only ones that I get, so suck it Warner Bros.! Suck it in your face!

The biggest "fuck you" from Warner Bros. though is that these figures are $24 each! Another reason I probably won't end up with the whole set. Anyhow, here are the figures:

Nite Owl I

Rorschach

And also, just for funzies, here's the trailer for Watchmen, in theaters 3-29-09!

My obsession began with...

These next few videos here represent what started my interest in music videos:

Radiohead - "Just"

U.N.K.L.E. - "Rabbit in Your Headlights"

Björk - "It's Oh So Quiet"

And finally, the video that started it all:

Wax -"California"

As you can probably tell, Spike Jonze was and still is one of my favorite music video directors. Maybe later I'll post some director specific posts.

Stop all the Motion

One of the things that I really like to do is watch new music videos. A lot of people think that videos are a dying art or whatevs, but whatevs, I'm still into them. From time to time I'll post some new music videos that I think are pretty dang cool (and I'll also post videos that totally suck boot).

One thing that I really like about that particular format is that the songs don't necessarily have to be very good, as long as the video is pretty sweet. Anyhow, below you'll see a couple of pretty sweet-arse videos employing the stop-motion technique. That's where there's like, motion, but they stop it? It's good. Check it yallz:

That there is Matt and Kim's video for the song "Daylight." It's cutesy, sure, but it's also a pretty good song. It makes me want to run! It makes me want to jump on bike! It makes me want to dumpster dive!(?) Anyhow, they throw the stop-motion in at the end.

This one here is O'Death's "Low Tide" which is a pretty dang fun song. It's pretty wacky, kind of what I picture Ugly Casanova to sound like if they did lots of tweak? They're on Kemado Records, which is quickly turning into one of my favorite new labels. ENJOY mutha-effers.

My name is Two Hands

This is where I will try to blog fairly often. Here's my older site, The Way I Feel On Particular Days; A Chronicle. I'll continue to post on both sites. But whatevs.

The basic idea behind Two Hands Radio is that I'll write about things... you know? It's going to be somewhat like a radio, not a radio station, but a radio itself. There'll be posts here about music, posts about movies, television, books? I don't really know. Some posts will sound like a hard rock station, others like your local country affiliate, while others will sound like talk radio. And others will be like a radio station where the people on it just talk about action figures.

Two Hands Radio is also the name of my Pandora radio station that I listen to. If you want to catch a glimpse of what I'm listening to, I guess you can figure out a way to find it on there.

Anyhow, come and read if you'd like.
