this must be the place [naive melody]

I just took a trip up to San Francisco with a few friends and we decided that we'd each make a mix to listen to for the drive up. Out of four of us, only 50% actually did this. Bill didn't make one, cause he's a lazy dick. Viet didn't make one, instead she just brought the Mix O'Mahoney because she thought I hadn't heard it (even though I posted it up here like 2 weeks ago). And Joe...Joe's a goddamned sweetheart and a champion amongst men and women alike. He made 4 mixes! God bless him.

Anyhow, I also made one. It's more "fun" than my other mixes. Well, maybe it's just that I had fun making it. Anyhow, I like it so I thought I'd share it with y'all.

Anyhow, download here or below.

Mix O'Mahoney

My friend (and maker of fine images like the one above) Erin Mahoney made me a mix CD before I left on tour. I listened to it almost every day while I was gone. It's chocked full of old favorites of mine (Camera Obscura, Wilco, and Yo La Tengo) as well as new jams that'll keep me occupied for some time (Bon Iver, Girl in a Coma, a Coconut Records track I actually like, and a Daniel Johnston song I'd never heard.)

By far though, my two favorite songs on the mix are these ones:

Anyhow, here's a link to the full mix, which also includes songs by Bob Dylan, The Zombies, Built to Spill, and others. Download and enjoy it!

Songs for the Time Being

I've been on the road since March 29th. I'm touring around with a band called Gliss. I'll be with them until May 4th when I take a couple of days off to rest in New York before heading back home.

I was suddenly inspired the other day while sitting in the back of the van to make a new mix. I don't normally make these as, well, I always feel like every one I know has already heard all the songs I'd be putting on them anyhow. For someone who works in music, I tend to find new music a little later than everyone else.

Anyhow, I gave it a shot here. If you check out the link below you'll get a zip file that has the entire mix on it. It's mostly filled with a bunch of songs that remind me of home. It's also got some fun stuff on there too. I actually tried to make it flow well, so I hope you like it! Anyhow. Enjoy! Or don't, whatevs, yo.
